Maxim “Max” Tsoy is an associate attorney at The Joli Law Firm. He focuses his practice in the areas of deportation and removal defense. Mr. Tsoy represents clients before the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, the Executive Office for Immigration Review, the Board of Immigration Appeals, the U.S. Customs and Border Protection, the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, the U.S. Department of State and its consular posts worldwide.
Mr. Tsoy is a graduate of University of Miami School of Law. During law school, he was a student-attorney at the University of Miami Human Rights Clinic where he worked under the supervision of Professor Caroline Bettinger-Lopez on projects involving human rights law, violence against women, and immigrants’ rights.
Prior to joining The Joli Law Firm, Mr. Tsoy served as a judicial extern for the Honorable Judges Spencer Multack and Donnald “DJ” Cannava of the 11th Judicial Circuit Court of Florida. He also completed two summer internships with the Career Criminal and the Juvenile Divisions of the Miami-Dade State Attorney’s Office.
Mr. Tsoy is a member of the American Bar Association, The Florida Bar, and the American Immigration Lawyers Association.
Mr. Tsoy is eligible to practice before U.S. Immigration Courts, the Board of Immigration Appeals, Florida State Courts, and the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida. Mr. Tsoy is fluent in Russian and Korean.
