Bruce W. Solow’s career has focused on litigation, both in the corporate world and as a federal prosecutor for the U.S. Department of Justice. During his 25 years as a U.S. Immigration Judge, he presided over thousands of cases involving complex immigration matters.
From his beginnings as a Trial Attorney for the Legal Aid Society in New York City to his 25 years on the bench as an Immigration Judge, Mr. Solow has spent a lifetime involved in litigation matters. His first 20 years of legal practice were dedicated to trial work honing his litigation skills while working as a civil litigator for a large aviation and admiralty law firm, then in the same capacity for TransWorld Airlines, and then the U.S. Department of Justice.
After his appointment to the U.S. Immigration Court, Mr. Solow presided over cases covering all phases of deportation, exclusion, and removal, including master calendar, individual, and evidentiary hearings; motion practice; requests for relief; and bond re-determinations. While he served principally in the Miami Immigration Court, Mr. Solow was frequently detailed on assignment to Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York, and other jurisdictions throughout the United States, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and Puerto Rico.
During his time on the bench and throughout his career, Mr. Solow built a reputation for sound judgment, a thorough understanding of the law, and a commitment to justice in immigration matters. Individuals facing complex immigration issues have a steadfast ally and powerful advocate in Mr. Solow.
Mr. Solow earned a Bachelors of Arts degree in Political Science from Rutgers University in 1962. He graduated from New York Law School with a J.D. in 1966, and earned a Masters of Laws degree in International and Comparative Law from Georgetown University Law Center in 1982.

Mr. Solow has also served as President of the National Association of Immigration Judges, represented the abused and abandoned children of Miami Dade County as a Guardian ad Litem, has been a member of the Boards of Directors of both Switchboard of Miami and the Make-A-Wish-Foundation.
Mr. Solow is admitted to practice in Florida, D.C., and New York, the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida, and the U.S. Supreme Court.
